KSA sends back 200 unskilled workforce

About 7,000 people have gone to Saudi Arabia and out of them some 200 came back in the last six months due to non-fulfillment of the job description, according to the sources.
“If this trend is going on, country’s remittance inflow will be affected”, experts said.
Actually, job market in Saudi Arabia for Bangladeshis is shrinking due to sending of unqualified and unskilled workers to the kingdom country.
Experts opined, Bangladesh should send more skilled manpower to the international job market with a view to earning more foreign money.
The government has adopted various regulations for governing the migration process including the Emigration Ordinance 1982, the Overseas Employment and Migrants Act
2013 and the Recruiting Agents License and Conduct Rules 2002. These regulations contain details on the responsibilities of various actors in the labour migration process. Various government ministries and their affiliated organizations are involved in the governance of migration in Bangladesh.
On the other hand, private recruitment agencies have a vital role in the recruitment process. Many workers resort to illegal channels to migrate overseas due to high costs associated with migration imposed by some recruiting agents.
The prevailing migration trend features a mismatch between demand in the destination countries and the supply of Bangladeshi migrant workers in terms of competencies and experience.
