KS Firoz turns 73 today

 Legendary actor KS Firoz turned into 73 today. His full name is Khondoker Shahid Uddin Firoz. But he does not have any plan to celebrate the day because he has been suffering from dengue fever and
pneumonia for last few days. However, his condition is slightly better now but he still feels weak. Though Firoz was born in Moshang village at Ujirpur in Barisal but was brought up in Dhaka’s Lalbag area. His father name is AJM Saidur Rahman who is popularly known as Ujir Mia locally. Firoz’s parents are not alive now. When his
birthday comes he remembers them.
He started his acting career through theatre group, Theatre. With this group he acted in plays Shat Ghat-er Kanakori, King Lear and Rakkhoshi.
His acting in King Lear under Kamal Uddin Nilu’s direction was highly appreciated to all. In TV, he first acted in play Dip Tobu Jwoley produced by Zaman Ali Khan and scripted by actress Dilara Zaman’s husband Shafiuzzaman.
Dolly Ibrahim was his co-actress in that play.
In 1967, KS Firoz joined in Army in commission post. He retired from there as Major in 1977. Before that on May 1, 1974 he tied the nuptial knot with Madhobi. He has three daughters – Nadia, Sadia and Rabeya Siraj Firoz.
In big screen, Firoz first worked in movie Lawarish. Later he took a long time break. Then he acted
in Abu Sayeed’s Shankhanad and Banshi, Murad Parvez’s Chandragrahan and Brihonnola. In television, his acted one of the
mentionable plays was Zia Ansari produced Protishruti.
Firoz informed that he is now acting in Sokal Ahhmed’s Phulmohol and Moniruzzaman’s Shunnyota.
