Kolkata-Dhk-Agartala trial bus enters Benapole

As part of its trial run on Kolkata- Dhaka- Agartala route, a bus carrying 35 passengers including Youth Welfare Minister of the West Bengal, India, Arup Biswas, entered Benapole Land Port, Bangladesh at around 11:10pm on Thursday, Dr Humayun Kabir, Deputy Commissioner, Jessore told journalists.
The trial bus service was formally opened by the Chief Minister of the West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee at around 3:45 pm (Indian time). The bus began its journey for Bangladesh from Kolkata at around 7pm Indian time, said officials of the neighbouring who were on board as passengers.
Dr Humayun Kabir, deputy commissioner, Jessore told the bus is scheduled to go to Agartala, the capital of Tripura on Friday.
Port sources said the bus left Benapole for Dhaka after completing immigration formalities at around 12 midnight.
