The KOICA Alumni Night-2014 was celebrated with vibrant participants of KOICA Alumni members at a city hotel on Thursday aiming to strengthen friendly and cooperative relations between Bangladesh and Korea.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Korea Bangladesh Alumni Association (KBAA) held its highly anticipated and long-awaited annual event of the year known as “KOICA Alumni Night 2014”.
President of KBAA and Senior Secretary, Ministry of LGRD Monzur Hossain, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh Lee Yun-young, Ambassador of the Royal Bhutanese Embassy to Bangladesh Pema Choden, Resident Representative, KOICA Bangladesh Office Kim Bok-Hee, dignitaries and KOICA Alumni members, among others, attended the event.
Referring to the growing relationship between Korea and Bangladesh, Lee Yun-young said the Korean government is recognizing Bangladesh as one of its most vital partners in the region and endeavors to increase bilateral cooperation in various fields of trade, investment, development cooperation, education and cultural exchange for better mutual benefit between the two countries.
The event featured Bangladeshi vibrant cultural dance performances along with Korea’s renowned K-Pop, poetry recitation and singing performances by KBAA Alumni followed by a special performance by KOICA’s Korean staffs who sang the highly popular Bangladeshi song “Ami Banglar gaan gai”.
A video presentation was also displayed focusing on various KBAA’s activities and other capacity development training programmes in Korea for the year 2014.
