Knowledge-based economy to be established in country by 2041: Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak yesterday said the knowledge-based economy will be established in the country by 2041.
“The knowledge-based economy will be established in the country by 2041 as the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working sincerely in flourishing the IT sector in the country,” he said.
Palak said this while laying the foundation stone of ‘Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center’ (Hi-Tech Park) project in Jalkuri area of Fatullah in Narayanganj Sadar upazila, a press release said.
He also said that under the prudent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country is transforming from a labor-dependent economy to a technology-based economy.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ICT Affairs Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the worthy son of the premier, wants to build the country with the necessary technology required to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution (FIR), he added.
He (Joy) also came up with the idea of setting up IT training and incubation centers in 64 districts of the country, Palak said, adding that through this activities, skilled youth with technological knowledge will be created all over the country and thus job opportunity will also be created.
Shamim Osman, MP, senior secretary of Information and Communications Technology Division N M Ziaul Alam, Bangladesh Hi-tech Park Authority Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Manjurul Hafeez and District Superintendent of Police Zaidul Alam were also present, among others, on the occasion.
