Kislu’s four decades in acting

Few days ago, noted actor and freedom fighter Ziaul Hasan Kislu has retired from his teaching profession as a professor. Before actor he is popularly known as a teacher. He started his teaching profession at Darshana Govt College in 1984. This year he retired as professor from Tularam Govt College, Narayanganj.
Kislu has been engaged with acting during his attachment with teaching profession. In 1982, he attached with Nagorik Natya Sampradoy. Under this group he acted in plays ‘Dewan Gazir Kichchha,’ ‘Nuruldiner Sarajibon,’ ‘Galileo,’ etc. Under Momtaz Uddin Ahmed’s direction he acted in play ‘Folafol Nimnochap.’ Again when late Abdullah Al Mamun made this play for television he again worked. This was Kislu’s first acting in BTV play. He played the role of hangman.
Shihab Shahin directed ‘Romizer Ayna’ was Kislu acted first TV serial. While staying in Chittagong he also acted in Zia Haider scripted play ‘Elebele’ under the group ‘Theatre 73’ which got the National Theatre Festival Award in 1978. He also took part in liberation war under Maj Jalil’s Sector No 9.
