Jail Killing Day observed: Killing of national leaders was deep-rooted conspiracy

The nation of Friday observed the tragic Jail Killing Day by paying tributes to four national leaders and heroes of the war liberation. On this day in 1975 four national leaders were killed brutal inside the Dhaka Central Jail.
Kishoreganj Distric Administration, ruling Awami League, Jasod, Gonotantree Party, Gano-Forum and others organizations observed Jail Killing Day paying tributes to four national leaders and heroes of the Liberation War.
During the Liberation War, four national leaders- Acting President Syed Nazrul Islam, Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmed, Home Minister Captain Monsur Ali and Shipping Minister A.H.M Kamruzzaman who led the liberation in absence of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1971 and earned independence for the nation.
Kishoreganj District Administration supported by the Cultural Affairs Ministry arranged a mourning rally, discussion, pestering, Quran Khwani , Doa Mahfil, blood donation marking the Day.
A memorial meeting was held at Govt. Gurudayl College Auditorium on Friday while D.C Md. Azimuddin Biswas in the chair. Zila Parished Chairman Adv Md. Zillur Rahman and Police Super Anowar Hossain Khan attended as special guest.
It was addressed among others by District Awami League President Adv Kamrul Ahsan Shajahan, its General Secretary Adv M.A Afzol, Acting Principal of Govt. Gurudayal College Professor Nazrul Islam, Poura Mayor Mahamud Pervaz, ADC (Gen) Torafder Md. Akter Jamil, G.P Adv Bijoy Sanker Roy, Principal Sharif Sadi, Sadar UNO Abdullah-al-Masud, Gonotontree Party President Advocate Dolon Bhowmik and Women Leader Bilkis Begum. A mourning rally was brought in the town led by D.C Md. Azimuddin Biswas and S.P Anowar Hossain Khan marking the Day.
Gouripur (Mymensingh) Correspondent adds: The Jail Killing Day was observed on Friday in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district marking the assassination of four top Awami League leaders inside Dhaka Central Jail on November 3, 1975.
Awami League and its front organizations, different socio-cultural and professional organizations observed the day through programmes. The programmes include hoisting of National and Party flags at half-mast, wearing black badges, floral wreaths and discussion and special prayers
 On the occasion, Gouripur Upazila Awami League brought out a mourning procession in the morning. The procession began from Upazila Awami League office. Freedom Fighter Nazim Uddin Ahmed, MP led the procession which paraded Rajbari road, Maddha Bazar, Notan Bazar and ended at the Bangabandhu Chatter. Leaders and workers of the upazila Awami league and its front organisations took part in the procession with wearing back badges. After the procession, Freedom Fighter Nazim Uddin Ahmed placed floral wreaths at the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders- Tajuddin Ahmed, Syed Nazrul Islam, Capt Monsur Ali and AHM Kamruzzaman at the Bangabandhu Chatter in upazila town and offered Fateha there.
Acting President of the upazila Awami league Dr. Helal Uddin, General Secretary of the upazila Awami league Babu Bidhu Bhushan Das, Former President of the upazila Awami league Adv.Freedom Fighter Abul Kalam Azad, AL leaders Md. Abul Kalam , Shah Munnaf, Iqbal Hossain Jowel and leaders of different front organisations were present there.
BSS from Rangpur adds: Leaders of Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies at a discussion here last night said killing of four national leaders at Dhaka Central Jail on November 3 in 1975 was a continuation of deep-rooted conspiracy. The observations came in the discussion held at district AL office in the city’s Betpotti area in observance of the Jail Killing Day. The district and city units AL and its associate bodies chalked out elaborate programmes on the day to pay due homage and respect to the four heroic national leaders.
The programmes included hoisting of the national and party flags at half-masts, wearing black badges, placing of floral wreaths at the portraits of Bangabandhu and four national leaders, holding milad mahfils and discussions.
