The detective branch of the police, at a press conference, claimed that they have arrested Rana Mollah, hired killer of businessman Mohidul Islam Safa, owner of SN Enterprise, who was slaughtered to
death near Jashore Central Eidgah in the town on January night.
Rana is a resident of or Shankarpur in Jashore town. The DB also arrested Raqib, associate of the ‘killer’ and a resident of the same area, said Moniruzzaman, officer in-charge, DB, Jashore.
Safa was residing at a residence owned by Habibur Rahman of Khaldhar Road in Jashore town.
Motalib Hossain, manager, SN Enterprise, owned by the dead told newsmen that some unidentified miscreants stab Safa in the throat and fled the scene as soon as he reached n front of a photocopy shop near the Eidgah on the day.
Rebeya Khatun, wife of the businessman told that unidentified men used to demand an amount of money as extortion for last few days. They could kill him.
The DB OC said they arrested the duo carrying out raids in Jashore town on January 6.
