UNB, Dhaka :Police rescued a higher secondary student, who was allegedly kidnapped by two Dhaka College students for ransom, from a dormitory of Dhaka University (DU) early Sunday.The rescued is Mostafizur Rahman, son of Mokhlesur Rahman of the city’ s Badda area.Police said, Sujan and Imran, 2nd year students of Islamic History Department of Dhaka College, used to live in Room No 528 of Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall at the shelter of Bangladesh Chhatra League activist Rahat.On Saturday night, the duo took Mostafiz to the dormitory telling him that they arranged for him giant screen to watch the World Cup football match between Brazil and the Netherlands.However, they kept him confined to the room and demanded Tk 70,000 from his father as ransom over phone.Getting the phone call from the abductors, Mokhlesur Rahman informed the matter to Shahbagh Police Station who rescued the college boy from the hall around 1 am.The law enforcers also arrested Imran from the spot while Sujan managed to escape.
