A minor boy named Yasin Mir (11) who was missing from Lohagara Upozila in Narail district was rescued by police from Katakhali Bus Stand crossing under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district at Monday night.
At that time police arrested a young man from there suspecting him to be a kidnapper.
It is learnt from the police and the locals that at the night at about 10 pm some locals found the boy was loitering there along with a young man aimlessly and informed the police of Fakirhat PS of the matter. Then a police squad led by SI Harun-ar-Rashid rushed to the spot recovered the boy from there, arrested the young man and took them to Fakirhat Model PS. The young man was identified as Avijit Mridha (26), son of one Bimal Mridha of village Moukhali under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district. Shahin Mir, father of the boy told that his son Yasin had been missing since Sunday (May 12) afternoon. He added that on the day when Yasin left the house he was, perhaps enticed by some one.
In this connection when contacted Abu Zahid Shaikh, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Model PS confirmed the matter.
