Khoka’s body arrives tomorrow

The body of Sadeque Hossain Khoka, BNP Vice-Chairman and former Mayor of Dhaka City Corporation, is expected to arrive in Dhaka from United States on Thursday morning by a flight of Emirates Airlines, said his son Ishraque Hossain.
After four Namaz-e-Janazas in Dhaka, he will be buried at Jurain Graveyard next to his father’s grave in the afternoon of that day.

Khoka’s first Namaz-e-Janaza will be held on the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 11:30am.
From there the body will be taken to the BNP’s Nayapaltan central office where on behalf of the party, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other leaders of various levels will pay their last respects to late Sadeque Hossain Khoka.
The second janaza will be held in front of the BNP party office.
From there, the body will be taken to capital’s Gopibagh, the birth place of Khoka. Two more funeral prayers will be held at Gopibagh and Dhupkhola grounds in the afternoon.
Family sources said, Khoka will be buried at Jurain Graveyard beside his father’s grave as per his last wish.
The family members were unable to bring him home before his death as he did not have any Bangladeshi passport in his possession.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed the authorities concerned to take necessary steps so that the former Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka could return home without any hassle in spite of some legal barriers. The valiant freedom fighter suffered from lung cancer for long.
Khoka died while undergoing treatment for cancer at a New York hospital at the age of 67.
On May 14, 2014, Khoka, the former fisheries and livestock minister, and his wife went to the USA with travel visa for cancer treatment.
