UNB, Cumilla :
A court here on Sunday deferred until November 25 the hearing on a petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia seeking bail in a murder case filed over the deaths of eight people in an arson attack on a bus here in 2015.
Judge of the Additional District and Session’s Judge Court-3 Abdur Rahim set the date following a time petition filed by the prosecution, said Khaleda’s lawyer Advocate Kaimul Haque Rinku.
Eight people were killed and at least 20 others injured in a petrol bomb attack on a bus at Jogmohanpur in Chouddagram upazila of the district on February 3, 2015 during the BNP-led alliance’s movement.
After the incident, three cases — one for killing, one under the Explosive Substances Act and the other under the Special Powers Act — were filed with Chouddagram Police Station against Khaleda Zia and several top BNP leaders.
