Awami League Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmood MP, said the common people of Bangladesh would bring BNP chief Begum Khaleda Zia to justice on charges of killing innocent people and carrying out terrorist and militant acts in the country.
“Khaleda Zia has killed innocent people and burnt alive passengers and drivers of various motor vehicles during her three months’ hartal and blockade across the country,” he said this on Thursday while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion at Shilpakala Academy here.
Bangababandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) organised the discussion on “Bangalee Nation towards getting rid of stigma, because of Jananetree Sheikh Hasina.” It marked the memory of Poet Sufia Kamal and Shaheed Janani Jahanara Imam, held with BSJ executive president and noted drama personality Syed Hasan Imam in the chair.
Dr Hasan Mahmood, also a former minister, said Khaleda Zia is not a political leader, but an actress of a horror movie, as her entire body is stained with the blood of innocent people. He said the present government is committed to complete the trial of all war criminals, adding, “no war criminal would be spared from the trial, which will continue.”
Referring to the World Bank’s report on Bangladesh, Dr Hasan Mahmood said the Awami League government is pledged-bound to turn Bangladesh into a middle income country by 2021, but it has attained the goal six-year earlier.
“The great achievement has been done under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said. Among others, vice chancellor of World University Professor Dr Abdul Mannan, organizing secretary of Awami League Dhaka City Unit Shahe Alam Murad, assistant secretary of Awami League sub-committee Advocate Balaram Poddar, teachers’ leader Shahjahan Alam Saju and Jote general secretary Arun Sarkar Rana spoke on the discussion.
