Staff Reporter :BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is likely to return home tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon after two months’ stay in the United Kingdom (UK). “Khaleda Zia will fly from London for Dhaka on Friday night to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 5:00 pm on Saturday,” said BNP’s spokesman Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon.He told it to the reporters at a press conference in the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office in the city on Thursday afternoon. The party’s senior leaders Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr M. Osman Faruk and Selima Rahman were also present at the conference. He said, Khaleda Zia has decided to return to Bangladesh though her treatment has not been completed. As the country is now passing through critical juncture, she has taken the decision of returning to Dhaka. Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for London on September 15 for treatment of her ophthalmologic problems and to meet her family members.Soon after her departure, BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan said that his party chief would stay in London for two weeks only for treatment purpose and to observe Eid-ul-Azha with her family members.Various speculations were in the air about the the BNP chief’s stay in London since she postponed the date of departure for at least eight times. According to sources, before her departure from London, Khaleda Zia will observe the 51st birth anniversary of her elder son and senior Vice-Chairman of the BNP Tarique Rahman today (Friday).
