BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Wednesday hoped that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s visit to Bangladesh would be fruitful.
The BNP chief voiced the expectation in a letter sent to the Palestine embassy in Dhaka welcoming Mahmoud Abbas’s tour, said party special secretary Asaduzzaman Ripon.
He said Khaleda also hoped that Palestine will get global recognition as an independent sovereign nation very soon, ending Israeli aggression and occupation.
The BNP chief also wished the Palestinian President good health and long life.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived here on Wednesday on a three-day official visit at the invitation of his Bangladesh counterpart Abdul Hamid.
President Hamid received the Palestinian President near the VVIP Tarmac of Hazarat Shahjalal International Airport.
Ripon said their party has always been supporting the struggle of the people of Palestine for establishing their rights and an independent state. Our party will also do the same in the days to come.
Asked whether there is a meeting scheduled between Mahmoud Abbas and Khaleda, he said the government did not inform their party.
