Khaleda holds meeting with party leaders

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on Monday night held a meeting with senior leaders of her party to discuss the country’s latest political situation and party’s movement strategy after the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
Held at BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan political office in the city, the meeting began after 9:00 PM and it was continuing till filing of this report at about 10:00 PM.
This is Khaleda Zia’s first formal meeting with her party’s senior leaders since she returned home on April 5 after nearly three months of her stay in her Gulshan office.
BNP’s standing committee members, vice chairman and chairperson’s advisers attended the meeting. Among them, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Lt Gen (Retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Brig Gen (Retd) ASM Hannan Shah, Begum Sarwari Rahman, Nazrul Islam Khan, Shah Moazzem Hossain, Abdullah-al-Noman, Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf, Selima Rahman and Enam Ahmed Chowdhury.
The meeting sources said that Khaleda Zia was discussing the country’s overall situation, party activities and its next course of action.
She gave the leaders necessary directions to carry out the organisational activities in her absence, as she is going to Saudi Arabia tomorrow (Wednesday) to perform Umrah as the royal guest of the Saudi government. She will meet her eldest son and party senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife and daughter there.
