Khaleda gets bail as judiciary independent: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday said BNP chief Begum Khaleda Zia has got bail from the Court as the country’s judiciary is completely independent during the incumbent government tenure.
“Khaleda’s bail proves again that the country’s judicial system is running completely independently,” he told a press conference at the Awami League president’s Dhanmondi political office here yesterday evening.
Quader said: “The country’s laws, courts and judiciary are working independently. The government has no interference there.”
Awami League Presidium Member Dr Abdur Razzak, Joint General Secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Dr Dipu Moni and Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organising Secretaries AFM Bahauddin Nasim and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Cultural Affairs Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua and Central Working Committee member SM Kamal Hossain, among others, were present on the occasion.
The Awami League general secretary expressed profound shock at the casualties in a plane crash of Bangladesh’s US-Bangla Airlines in Nepal’s Tribhuban International Airport yesterday.
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of the crash victims and conveyed profound sympathy to their family members.
The minister also wished early recovery of the injured.
