Khadiza returns home after treatment

College girl Khadiza Akter Nargis, who was brutally hacked by suspended BCL leader Badrul Islam on October 3 last year, returned to her home.
She reached her home in Hausha area of Sylhet Sadar upazila on Wednesday afternoon, after receiving treatment at Square Hospital for months and Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) for around four months.
She reached Sylhet city with her brother Shahin Ahmed by air from Dhaka around 2:17pm and then arrived at her home around 3:30pm.
Hearing the news of her return, the villagers thronged her house to see her, reports our Sylhet correspondent.
Her brother Shahin Ahmed said Khadiza’s physical condition is better now and the doctors at CRP in Savar allowed her to visit home for the betterment of her mental condition.
“She is still undergoing treatment at CRP”, he added.
Khadiza (23) was hacked by Badrul, the Assistant Secretary of SUST unit of BCL while she was returning home after an examination at Sylhet MC College on October 3.
She was first admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. The following day and later shifted to Square Hospital in Dhaka where she underwent three surgeries and was put on life support until October 13.
Khadiza was in a coma when she was admitted to the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.
Over one and a half months of intense treatment, Khadiza was taken to the CRP in Savar so that she could come back into normal life.
