In their regular drives against the illegal gas consumption in city and its adjoining areas , Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Ltd’s vigilance team disconnected 14 domestic connections on Sunday and Monday , a KGDCL public relations office sources said.
Meanwhile the vigilance team led by Engr. Alamgir Hossain disconnected 6 domestic connections in Fatehpur area under Hathazari thana on Monday for alleged consumption of pipe line gas in a candle factory there
. Following the unauthorized use gas industrial purpose beyond permission, the connections of Noor Begum and Md. Nursaffa have been snapped instantly. Case against misuse of gas under Gas act of 2010 is under process against the consumers accordingly, sources said.
On the other hand on Sunday , another vigilance team disconnected 8 domestic connections in Burma colony and Hillview residential area under Baizid thana in city for alleged use of gas unthorisedly in a commercial establishment from a disconnected line .
After tracing the matter of unauthorized consumption of gas in commercial establishment, 8 connections in the building of Abdul Latif and Shahadul Alam snapped on the spot and case filed against them including realisastion of arrear bills and penal bills under the act of 2010, KGDCL sources added.
