Ifti Mosharraf Sakal, one of the key accused of Abrar Fahad murder case, on Thursday confessed that he along with other BCL men tortured Abrar that led to his death.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury recorded the confessional statement of Sakal after DB Inspector Md Wahiduzzaman, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, brought Sakal at his chamber in the afternoon.
After recording the statement, the magistrate sent Sakal, social welfare secretary of BUET unit BCL to Keraniganj Central Jail.
DB, in its forwarding report to the magistrate, said, Sakal, during his remand, has admitted that he along with other accused beat Abrar that led to his death and so Sakal agreed to give the confessional statement.
A total of 16 people including Sakal were arrested in connection with the murder of Abrar.
