Keep all banks open from July 2-4: FBCCI

Businesspeople on Monday urged the Bangladesh Bank to keep all commercial banks open on July 2 to 4 ensuring smooth export-import activities, safe cash transactions and salary disbursement.
A delegation of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), led by its President Abdul Matlub Ahmad, met Bangladesh Bank governor Fazle Kabir and placed their demand.
The governor agreed to issue an order to the banks asking them to keep banks open from July 2-4 under respective bank’s consideration for the sake of cash deposit and withdrawal, said a FBCCI press release.
The government has already announced eid vacation from July 1-9 for government offices, banks and financial institutions. The FBCCI leaders welcomed the government decision.
The FBCCI said banking support is very urgent for the sake of safe and smooth money transactions to execute import-export activities.
