KDS Group, one of the leading business cantonment in Chattogram filed 26 cases against one of their former directors and his family members just in span of one year alleging that he was involved with irregulates during his tenure.
However, victim family demanded that KDS abusing a part of state organs and filing one after another “intentional” cases for harassment. He is languishing in jail without trial for one year.
KDS Group filed these cases from November 25, 2019 to November 24, 2020 against Munir Hussain Khan former executive director of KY Steel, a sister concern of KDS Group, one and half year of his leaving the company.
Munir Hussain Khan, a Bangladeshi born US citizen joined KY Steel, in 2007 as an executive director following the request of his childhood school friend KDS Group Managing Director Selim Rahman. Later he was promoted as a paid director for his performance and continued the job till June 20, 2018.
These allegations are false and they are also involving me and my other sons though we were not involved with KDS in any extent, said his father Captain Muazzam Hussain Khan, who was a former harbour master of Chattogram Port Authority in a press briefing on Wednesday at Chattogram press club.
Following argument in a board meeting inside at Chattogram Central Jail on April 11, 2018 with life-term convict of a murder case, Yasin Rahman Tito, son KDS Group Chairman Khalilur Raham is the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the company Munir was physically assaulted and asked to resign from the company.
In 2019 when Munir joined another company- Apollo Steel, as a consultant which became a competitor to KY Steel then they started threating to leave the company but he did not leave. Failing that, the KDS group started filing cases against him and us. If he is granted bail in one case, he is sent to jail with another case, said Muazzam.
Of them 5 cases with Bayezid police station including a case of stealing a car. one with Gulshan Police station and 20 case filed at Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Saleh Mohammad Noman court. He is now on bail at 19 cases. Almost same allegations (fraudulence and embezzlement) have been brought in all cases except the car stolen case of Bayezid police station,” added Muazzam.
Munir was working as SVP at in Florida in USA. When his friend KDS Managing director, Selim Rahman requested him he returned to the country and take the charges of the KY Steel which was not a good position that time, said Muzzam.
“By his leadership the company has become one of the top corrugated iron (Murgi Marka Dew Tin) manufacturers in the country. Now he is embracing the miserable fate and languishing in jail for returning in the country responding in the call of his friend without thinking about the life of a developed country, the bright future and education of his children,” added Muazzam.
“His two children and wife are living inhumane lives today. The future of the children looms over extreme uncertainty,” he said.
