HBO limited series, Mare of Easttown, starring Kate Winslet, will premiere on April 18, announced the TV network. Aside from serving as an executive producer, in this
latest crime-thriller, Winslet plays the lead detective, assigned on
a local Pennsylvania murder that exposes the dark secrets of the small town. HBO’s official synopsis reads that the seven-part series will be
“an exploration into the dark side of a close community and an authentic examination of how
family and past tragedies can define our present.”
In a recent interview, Winslet admitted that playing the role was
a challenge by all means, including mustering the Delaware
County accent.
