Kate used to live in Ulhasnagar and would travel to Mumbai for auditions everyday by local train via the Central Railway.
Once an old beggar woman came to her begging for alms on the train. The boogie was almost empty as is a holiday and during non peak hour. Kate gave the beggar woman Rs 50. The woman was so happy that there were tears of joy in her eyes. Looking at Kate with her moist, tear-filled eyes she asked Kate if she was a film or TV star. As Kate had just started off in her career, she replied in the negative.
To this reply, the old, haggard beggar woman suddenly blurted out saying, “tum jaldi hi film karogi.” And within a month she was signed on for a show on &Tv called Paramavatar Shri Krishna. Kate who is a firm believer in God likes to believe Shri Krishna visited her in the garb of an old, haggard beggar. Her journey though was not all hunky dory. Traveling to Mumbai from Ulhasnagar for auditions was the toughest of the lot, she reveals.
