Newly -elected city mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said after construction of Karnaphuli tunnel in the bottom of the river , the port city will be turned into a mega city .
He disclosed it while addressing a reception accorded to him arranged by a Jamal Khan Ward Councilor Saibal Das Summon at a city community centre on Thrusday evening.
Mayor also said during the coming rainy season tree , tree plantation will be geared up in all 41 wards and in the road islands to turn the city into a green city.
He also announced that renovations of Moheskhali and Chaktai Khal will be undertaken to make city from waterlogging.
Convenor of the reception committee Nurul Absar Majumder presided the reception.
Among others, General Secretary Hindu Bouddha Christian Oikya Parishad Rana Das Gupta, Press Club President Kalim Sarwar, Ptesident of CUJ Ezaz Yousfi, former president Shahidul Alam, Councilor Saibal Das Summon , local AL leaders addressed the function.
3 human trafficker held: Chittagong Metropolitan busted a gang of human traffickers in the port and rounded up three allegedly involved with the human trafficking to India. Police rounded up three trafficker from Bank colony of Halishahar under EPZ thana recently. Police also rescued two illfated victims from their custody.
