Here comes the big news of the day! Karan Johar has finally put an end to all the rumours surrounding his next film. The filmmaker today announced his next film titled Takht and it boasts of a fantastic star cast. The biggie will have Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles. Now doesn’t that sound out of the world? Well, only Karan Johar could have pulled it off.
The trade buzz has confirmed that Takht is period film set in the Mughal Era. Rumours are rife that the story will revolve around the life of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz’s three kids. Apparently, Ranveer will play Dara Shukoh and Kareena will be playing the role of Jahanara Begum. They will be seen as siblings in the film. Alia will be seen as Ranveer’s wife. We have also heard that Vicky Kaushal will play the role of Aurangzeb and Janhvi will be his wife. Anil Kapoor will reportedly be Shah Jahan in the film. Not much is clear about Bhumi Pednekar’s part though.
A source also informed us that Takht will be India’s biggest film ever. He said, “Karan Johar is going to go all out this one. It’s a humongous project, you can call it India’s biggest film ever. The sets will be created on a massive level and the film is expected to be the most expensive one ever made in India. Karan is keen to bring back grandeur on screen.”
