Kapasia cloth merchant electrocuted

A cloth merchant named Shambhu Chandra Das (35) died of electricution at Kapasia in Gazipur. He is the only son of Niranjan Chandra Das of Nakasini village in Sadar union of the upazila. On Wednesday, August 4, at around 8 am, while trying to connect the dishline to the television in his house, he got into an accident. He later died on the way to the Upazila Health Complex. The television connection had kept itself open the night before due to bad weather.
It is learned that Shambhu Chandra Das, a cloth merchant of Lungipatri in Upazila Sadar Bazar, used to run his father’s business. He was due to leave soon after his only sister moved to America. His parents recently visited America. He is survived by his wife and a young son named Soumik. His death has cast a shadow of mourning over neighbors, relatives and friends. His body was laid to rest at the local Nakasini shrine in the afternoon. Leaders of Kapasia Bazar Businessmen’s Association have expressed deep grief and condolences to the bereaved family on his death.
Kapasia Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Moniruzzaman Khan visited the spot and confirmed the incident. He said an unnatural death case had been registered at the police station as there was no complaint from the family.
