Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan-starrer Papanasam will hit the theatres on July 17. Papanasam is a remake of Malayalam hit Drishyam which starred Mohanlal. Two weeks later, the Hindi version of the same film starring Ajay Devgn will release.
“Since July 17 happens to be Ramzan holiday weekend, the makers felt it would be appropriate time to release the film. The audio launch is expected to happen in the second or third week of June,” said a source from the film’s unit. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, who helmed the original, Papanasam is about a father’s plight to save his family.
