Staff Reporter :
Convener of the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum Advocate Khandker Mahbub Hossain on Monday said that justice being deprived from the judiciary due to conspiracy of Attorney General Mahbubey Alam.
“Our protest is against the conspiracy of the present Attorney General of Bangladesh. We couldn’t get the justice, which was supposed to receive from the judiciary, due to the conspiracy of the Attorney General,” said the veteran lawyer.
He was speaking at a rally organized on the Supreme Court premises demanding the unconditional release of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
“The apex court of the country sought a medical report. Why is not that report coming to court? As per the directions of the Supreme Court, the report came to our Attorney General in due time. But he didn’t submit the report in the court saying that the report yet to be prepared. We think such behavior of the Attorney General is contempt of the apex court,” he said.
Khandker Mahbub said, “We still believe that our judiciary, especially our apex court, will do justice and the rule of law will remain. That is why we organized this rally. This rally is not for pressurizing the court. We want justice.”
Co-Conveners of the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum Advocate Zainul Abedin and Barrister A M Mahbub Uddin Khokan, among others, gave speech in the programme.
