Junaid stars as Rajshahi Division win NCL title

Junaid Siddique scored a match winning unbeaten knock of 120-run saw Rajshahi Division team won title of four-day Walton National Cricket League (NCL) beating Barishal Division team by six wickets in the tier-1 match held on Thursday at Shahid Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
The title also meant that they equaled Rangpur Division’s haul of six NCL titles and equaled the record for most NCL titles in the domestic circuit.
Chasing a winning target of 284 runs set by Barishal Division, Rajshahi Division coasted to the target for the loss of four wickets. Thanks to Junaid Siddique for his impressive knock of 120 runs that helped Rajshahi to chase down the target easily after Rajshahi Division resumed their second innings on the fourth day with overnight score at 182 for 2.
The overnight batsman Junaid hit 17 boundaries during his 281-ball stay on the crease while skipper Jahurul Islam supported him with 64-run off 108-ball that studded with five boundaries and three over boundaries.
Tanvir Islam was the pick of Barishal bowlers as he claimed two Rajshahi’s wickets conceding 61 runs.
Junaid Siddique of Rajshahi Division was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance in the match.
At Shahed Chandu Stadium in Bogura, the tier-1 match between Khulna Division and Rangpur Division was ended in a draw. Moinul Islam of Khulna Division was named the player of the match.
At Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium academy ground no 2 in Cox’s Bazar, the tier 2 match between Sylhet Division and Dhaka Division was ended in a draw.
Rajin Saleh of Sylhet Division was named the player o the match for his impressive batting performance.
At Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar, the match between tier-2 match between Chattogram Division and Dhaka Metropolis was ended in a draw.
