bdnews24.com :Judge, wife accused of torturing underage house help in Dhaka home A 12-year old house help has accused a judge and his wife of torturing her during her alleged confinement at their residence in Dhaka.The girl claimed National Legal Aid Services Organisation Deputy Director (Admin) Md Rokibul Islam and his wife Shamima Islam had tortured her many times in the past 15 months.She made the allegation after managing to flee from the couple’s house at the capital’s Uttara.She reached her home in Magura’s Shalikha Upazila in the early hours of Saturday.Rokibul also hails from the same district’s Mohammadpur Upazila.Her family later in the day admitted her to Magura Sadar Hospital. Doctors there said the child had many wound marks on her body.The girl’s mother Dalim Begum said they had no contact with her since she went to work at Rokibul’s house last year. The child said she had to work at the houses of both Rokibul at Uttara and his father-in-law at Bashundhara Residential Area.She alleged that the couple had beaten her and tortured her in many ways during her stay there as house help. She was allowed to eat only once every day.
