A local Jubo League activist was shot to death by unidentified miscreants in Kanchana Fultala Bazar area of Satkania upazila on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Jamal Hossain, 32, a local activist of the ruling Awami League’s youth wing and son of Badi Alam of the area. He used to work at a fish farm owned by a local Awami League leader.
Officer-in-charge of Satkania Police Station Khalid Hossain said a
group of 4-5 miscreants in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw swooped on Jamal at the fishery around 7:15pm.
The attackers sprayed him with 4-5 bullets before leaving the place with the three-wheeler, leaving him dead on the spot. The reason behind the killing could not be known yet.
