A local Jubo League activist was slaughtered to death by unidentified miscreants at Madanpur village in Sadar upazila early Monday. The deceased was identified as Roman Hossain, a resident of the village. Wahiduzzaman, in-charge of Dattapara Police Investigation Centre, said Roman went out of the house at Birahimpur village after a gang of miscreants called him on Sunday night. Later, local people found the slaughtered body of Roman at Madanpur village on Monday morning and informed police. Police recovered the body and sent it to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Roman was wanted in several cases including robbery and extortion, Wahiduzzaman added. The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately. A case was filed in this connection.— UNB, Dhaka.
