The 49th founding anniversary of Jubo League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League, will be observed today.
Bangladesh Awami Jubo League commonly known as Jubo League is the first youth organization of Bangladesh founded by Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani under the direction of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
through a youth convention at the Institution of Engineers on November 11, 1972. The organization was established with the aim of involving the youth in the struggle for a non-communal, democratic and exploitation-free Bangladesh.
Nowadays, Jubo League has become the largest youth organization in the country through long struggle and sacrifices of thousands of leaders and workers for more than four decades.
The organization has chalked out different programmes to mark the anniversary which include hoisting of national and party flags at its central office at 6:00 am, paying tributes to Bangabandhu by placing floral wreaths at his portrait at Dhanmondi 32 at 8.30am and paying homage to martyred Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani and martyrs of August 15, 1975, at the Banani graveyard at 9.30 am and offering of Fateha.
