A local Jubo League activist was hacked to death in an attack allegedly by his rivals in Chittagong. The deceased was identified as 32-year-old Md Mohiuddin who was well known in the Halishahar area in the port city.
The incident occurred in Meher Afroze Hig h School in Saltgola area on Monday afternoon, said Inspector Moinul Islam of Bandar Police Station.
“Mohiuddin went to attend a meeting to form a committee with former students of the school to organise a reunion,” OC Moinul added.
Followers of Haji Iqbal, a local influential leader, attacked him with sharp weapons and stabbed him indiscriminat ely, he said.Critically injured, Mohiuddin was taken to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
