Jubo Dal activist Shahidul Islam alias Shaon was killed by a brick, not by bullet of police, said Mahfuzur Rahman Al Mamun, Superintendent of Munshiganj Police.
The SP held a press conference in the conference room of the Superintendent of Police on Wednesday noon regarding the final report of the autopsy of Shawn’s death.
SP claimed that on September 21, BNP activists threw bricks at the police. At one stage of this, Juba Dal worker Shaon and another worker of BNP who was with him were injured by stones thrown from behind. After the incident he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The next day at around 9 pm, he died in Dhaka while undergoing treatment.
The Superintendent of Police said that the postmortem of the deceased Shaon’s body was completed before the Executive Magistrate of Dhaka Metropolitan Police The final post-mortem report stated that ‘Shawn died of blunt force trauma in the head’. He said, the report also says that there are bruise marks in the back of the head. There is no harm in shooting music. Shaun died after being hit by a brick.
