JU VC urges to resist sexual harassment on women

Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Prof Dr Farzana Islam on Thursday urged everyone to come forward to resist sexual harassment on women so that they become secure at their respective workplace in the society.
She urged such remarks at a ‘View-Exchange’ programme jointly organized by Bangladesh Mahila Parishad and Student Welfare and Counseling Center of the university at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium to mark the International Women Repression Prevention Fortnight- 2018 and the World Human Rights Day.
Addressing the function, JU VC said, ‘Prevention of sexual harassment is a social movement. We must have to forget the discrimination between men and women and think ourselves only as human being’.
‘If we want to wake up, we will have to know, listen and read. We have to create a situation under our control.
 To prevent such crimes like sexual harassment, we will have to be physically and mentally capable to us’, she added.
She underscored on the prevention of repression and violation against women at her speech.
