The government and politics department of Jahangirnagar University (JUGP) on Friday gave a special award to its Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Farzana Islam for becoming the first female VC of a public university in the country.
The department handed over the award to the VC marking its second reunion programme held last night at Selim Al Deen Muktamancha on the campus, a university press release said.
Earlier, the VC inaugurated the programme at about 10 am as the chief guest.
The department also awarded retired teachers of the government and politics department at the programme.
The daylong programme included a colorful rally, fun games, raffle draw and a cultural function.
