JU BCL man clubbed by party activists

Some activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit allegedly clubbed its own worker over establishing supremacy at Mir Mosharraf Hossein Hall (MMH) on Monday night.
The victim has been identified as Javed Sajol, a 4th year student of Economics Department and loyal to JU BCL President Mahmudur Rahman Johny.
According to the eyewitness, more than 12 BCL activists led by Subrata Kumar Shaha, a student of  
Statistic Department, went to Javed Sajol in his room and charged him for mistreating with some of their followers.
Being agitated at one stage, Subrata Kumar Shaha with Abhijit Nandi, a Masters student of Institute of Information Technology (IIT), Ali Ahsan, a 4th year student of Environmental Science department, Forhad-a 4th year student of Finance and Banking, Sifat Ahmed Ratul, a 2nd year student of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (BGE) department, Pritom Arif, a 3rd year student of History department, Azimushan Pronoy, a 3rd year student of Geography and Environment department together walloped Javed and left him injured.
He was taken to University Medical Centre and later to Enam Medical College for better treatment. The activists are loyal to JU BCL President Mahmudur Rahman Johny and Bashirul Haque, the deputy social services affair secretary of the university unit.
Victim Javed said, they beat me without any reason. I was victim of bad politics.
It is mentionable that a political conflict centering post of the hall committee between Sajol and Bashir group had been going on for some months.
Asking about the incident, Bashirul Haque said “I don’t know about the incident.”
MMH Hall Provost Professor Obaidur Rahman said, we have already formed a probe committee in this incident. Proper steps will be taken after investigation.
