The first phase of Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI) programme, under the auspicious cooperation of International Tennis Federation (ITF), began at first week of this month in full swing with two
new sponsors at the different school venues across the country in order to groom the budding 6-11 age of boys and girls tennis players for future.
The two new sponsors are Knit Concern and First Security Islami Bank Limited (FSIB). Knit concern is the golden sponsor while FSIB is the silver sponsor of the event.
Organised by Bangladesh Tennis Federation (BTF), the BTF has been conducting tennis training programme among the 1,500 boys and girls participants through the JTF programme, which incepted in the country in 1997. And BTF is expecting 2,000 new students to include under this programme this year.
The JTI will conclude through Inter-District Tennis Competition in October this year.
In this regards, a press conference was held on Monday at the BTF conference room to give all the details of the programme.
Managing Director of Knit Concern Helena Jahangir said as a woman she wants more involvement of women’s players in tennis and hoped to stand beside them in any need in future.
FSIB Limited head of marketing Ajam Khan said it is a new journey with BTF through the programme and he hoped to stand beside the BTGF in future.
BTF vice president Mohammad Ali Dwin, its advisor Golam Morshed and general secretary Meer Khurshid Anwar were present, among others, on the occasion.
