JS Committee on Public Accounts meet held

The Parliamentary Committee on Public Accounts reviewed the progress in implementation of decisions taken earlier to settle audit objections in the annual audit reports of the comptroller and auditor general (CAG) on the accounts of Internal Resource Division (Income tax) under the finance ministry in fiscal 2008-09.
After the review, the parliamentary body recommended the authorities concerned to submit a report to the committee after realizing the money in question and depositing it in 30 days.
The recommendation was made at the 35th meeting of the committee held on Thursday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its Chairman Dr. Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir in the chair.
Committee members M. Abdus Shahid, Panchanan Biswas, AFM Ruhul Haque, M. Afsarul Amin, Begum Rokeya Momin, M. Shamsul Haq Tuku, Mainuddin Khan Badal, M Rustam Ali Farazi and Begum Wasika Ayesha Khan attended the meeting.
The committee recommended implementation of the decisions taken on sections 1 to 8 of audit objections in the reports of 2010-’11 within the stipulated time. CAG Masud Ahmed, Secretary of Internal Resource Division and National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman M. Nazibur Rahman and senior officials concerned were present at the meeting.
