JS committee for overall development of AFMC

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Defense made a set of recommendations for the overall development of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), including increasing its budget, recruiting adequate manpower and preservation of record of patients.
The committee in its 15th meeting held on Monday also recommended taking steps by AFMC in building joint academic collaboration with other public and private medical colleges for ensuring standard of education.
It discussed the service age limit of the officials-employees working in medical corps and education corps and recommended increasing the age limit. It also recommended increasing the number of students in under-graduate courses and introduction of post-graduate course.
Committee Chairman Mohammad Subid Ali Bhuiyan presided over the meeting and it was attended, among others, by members Muhammad Faruk Khan, Dr Dipu Moni, Md Elias Uddin Mollah and Hosne Ara Begum.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Kazi Habibul Awal, Chief of Air Staff Air Marsha Abu Esrar, Lt Gen Md Moinul Islam, Rear Admiral Awarangajeb and senior officials of the three services and defense ministry, among others, were present.
