Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock on Wednesday recommended quick implementation of the proposals made in probe report on Dhaka Zoo.
The recommendation was made from the sixth meeting of the committee held at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here.
Chaired by Mir Shawkat Ali Badshah, the meeting was also attended by Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammed Sayedul Hoque, Kamal Ahmed Mazumder, Md Golam Mostafa Biswas, Khandaker Azizul Haque Arju, Muhammad Altaf Ali and Samsun Nahar Begum, among others.
The meeting also discussed development in different ongoing projects under the ministry. It also recommended collection and compilation of acts made effective by the ministry in two volumes and enacting the marine fisheries academy act soon.
The committee advised the ministry to take all the necessary steps to visit Dublar Char in Sundarbans during the ongoing winter season.
Secretary and high officials of the concerned ministry and the JS officials were present at the meeting.
