The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Education Ministry submitted its report on the Bangamata Sheikh Fozilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University (BSFMSTU) Bill, 2017 in the House here on Thursday after its scrutiny.
Committee Chairman M Afsarul Amin placed the scrutinized bill before the House with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Earlier, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on 10 September, 2017 placed the bill on the parliament and the House sent it to the parliamentary standing committee on the concerned ministry for further examination.
In light of the announcement by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the education ministry has taken an initiative to establish a university in Jamalpur district in the proposed bill.
