The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts discussed progress in the implementation of the decisions taken by the committee on audit objections in the annual (2008-09) audit reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on Post and Telecommunications Ministry from the fiscal 2007-08 to 2008-09.
The committee held the discussion at its 49th meeting on the Jatiya Sangsad Complex with its Chairman Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir in the chair.
Taking the report of the audit objection committee into consideration, the meeting also stressed the need for realizing Taka about Taka 2.71 crore from different organizations and individuals as outstanding bills for telephone.
Committee members Mohammad Afsarul Amin, Begum Rebeka Momin, M Shamsul Haq Tuku, Mieen Uddin Khan Badal and Mohammad Rustum Ali Farzi and senior officials concerned attended the meeting.
