The fourth meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce Ministry was held on Monday at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with committee chairman Tofael Ahmed in the chair. Committee members – Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Mahmud-us-Samad Chowdhury MP, Mohammad Hsan Imam Khan MP and Sultana Nadira MP were also present at the meeting.
The meeting had an elaborate discussion on Foreign Trade Institute, Registered Joint Stock Company and Trading Corporation of Bangladesh’s (TCB) overall activities, said a press release.
The meeting was informed that, TCB published a list of retail price of daily commodities on their website after visiting the local markets of the city and analyzing the retail and wholesale prices, added the release. The meeting was also informed that the list was sent to Prime Minister’s office, Commerce Ministry and other organisations. Additional Secretary of Commerce Ministry, Chairman of the Tariff Commission, Chairman of TCB and JS senior officials were also present at the meeting.
