JS body for settling audit objections quickly

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts has discussed the chapters from 1 to 8 of the audit objections/comments part of the annual audit report (income tax) 2009-10 of the Office of the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) and recommended taking proper steps to settle audit objections for recovering the overdue tax.
In its 70 meeting on Sunday the committee suggested taking steps by the ministries concerned and National Board of Revenue (NBR) to solve quickly specially those audit objections against which have no cases to recover the arrears, said a press release. It said there is an audit objection involving Tk 4.05 crore against Woodland Apparels and recommended convening a tripartite meeting to solve the audit objection and send a report on it to the accounts committee through CGA within the next 30 days.

Chaired by the committee Chairman Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, the meeting was attended by its members AKM Maidul Islam, Md Abdus Shaheed, Mohammad Amanullah, Md Shamsul Haque Tuku and Moinuddin Khan Badal.
