JS body for setting up economic zones for industrialization

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry recommended establishing economic zones protecting the interests of small and medium industries in the country.
The recommendation was made at the 21st meeting of the standing committee at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Tuesday with Committee Chairman Suranjit Sengupta in the chair.
Committee members Law Minister Anisul Haq, M Tajul Islam Chowdhury, M Shamsul Haq Tuku, M. Abdul Majid Khan, Talukder M Yunus, Advocate Ziaul Haq Mridha and Safura Begum attended the meeting.
The meeting held discussions on Bangladesh Economic Zone (Amendment) Bill, 2015.
It recommended demarcation of land boundaries and acquiring land to establish Bangladesh Economic Zone for expediting industrialization in the country.
Principal Secretary to Prime Minister’s office, secretary of law and justice division and senior officials concerned were present at the meeting.
