The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Account laid emphasis on ensuring transparency and accountability of public fund expenditure.
The committee made the emphasis at a meeting held on Monday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its Chairman Rustum Ali Farazi in the chair, an official press release said.Other members of the committee- Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Abul Kalam Azad, Md Abdus Shahid, Md Afsarul Amin, Md Shahiuddin Sarkar, RAM Obaidul Moktadir Chowdhury, Salman Fazlur Rahman, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, Zahirul Haque Bhuiyan Mohan, Monzur Hossain, Ahsanul Islam(Titu), Mustafa Lutfullah and Wasika Ayesha Khan- attended the meeting.
At the meeting, officials from different organisation concerned including Bangladesh Bank and Directorate of Inspection and Audit pledged to ensure transparency and accountability of all public expenditure for combating corruption in the country.
They stressed the need for updating audit objection for removing irregularities in public expenditures.
Governor of Bangladesh Bank Fazle Kabir, Secretary of Financial Institutions Division Md Ashadul Islam and senior officials of different organisation concerned were present, among others, at the meeting.
