The election of Joypurhat Press Club was held recently.
Mostakim Farrokh, Joypurhat Correspondent of Desh TV and Daily Karatoa and Ratan Kumar Khang, Joypurhat Correspondent of Daily Samakal were elected president and secretary respectively for two years.
The other executives are – Vice President, Abu Bakkar Siddique, Joypurhat Correspondent of Bangla Vision, Joint Secretary, Masud Rana, Joypurhat correspondent of Masranga TV and Jai Jai Din, Treasurer Masrekul Alam, Joypurhat correspondent of The Bangladesh Today and cultural secretary Rezaul Karim Khan, Joypurhat Correspondent of Naya Diganta.
The elected executive members were-Tapan Kumar Khang, Joypurhat correspondent of Daily Janakantha, Om Prakash Agarwal, Akkelpur correspondent of Daily Sangbad, Shahidul Islam Sabuj, Joypurhat correspondent of Daily Amader Samoy, Advocate Nanda Kishor Agarwal, Joypurhat correspondent of Daily Sangbad and Sujan Hazari, Joypurhat correspondent of Daily Manabkantha.
Vote casting was started at 9 AM and ended at 12.30 PM.
After counting vote in presence of candidates and voters, the chief election commissioner Shahidul Islam Saju, Joypurhat correspondent of Daily Ittefaq announced the result at 4 PM . The other election commissioners Nazrul Islam, Joypurhat correspondent of The Independent and Alamgir Chowdhury, Joypurhat correspondent of News 24 and Kalerkantha were present on the occasion.
